Speaking to partners and lawyers about our approach is a privilege but also serves as a reminder of what we are and how passionately we believe in our alternative approach.
We understand and have lived the traditional way and appreciate how engrained it is in law firms. It transcends every aspect of a law firm from the advice given to clients to the behaviours of lawyers.
We shared of course how much we hate prescriptive negotiated scoping of work to come – the unpicking of every eventuality (but usually not the one that materialises!) the pre-nup effect on the exciting new relationship and the time it takes! Ditching scoping frees up the time to deal with the potential “out of scope” eventuality that becomes a focus.
If there is no time recording, the work cannot take longer than expected… time was not a factor in the pricing.
